Permanent makeup — also called cosmetic tattooing or micropigmentation — uses fine needles to deposit pigment into the upper layers of the skin. Unlike traditional tattoos, cosmetic pigments are formulated to fade gradually over 1 to 3 years, allowing for adjustments as trends and personal preferences evolve.
